The aim of the dialogues is the living consciousness of your own sphere, your own nature. That is the sphere of complete relaxation and profound lucidity: Openness without separation, the absence of duality (a-dvaita).

The starting point of the dialogues is your own actual situation. Realization occurs by going back to your own experience of your own situation. In this situation you generally make many distinctions and separations between: I and the other, your desire and the object of your desire, your fear and the frightful, 'I-think' and the thought, your thinking and your feeling, etc.. An inquiry into this situation shows that it is these separations which are the reason for conflicts, tensions and suffering, but also that they are very relative, that they are not necessary. They are only present when you adopt a position that is limited. Removal of this point of view means an un-limiting, and the manifestation of Openness without separations, of a-dvaita.

The dialogues take the 'direct path' of the sharp and experienced insight, as a result of which obstacles to the realization of Openness are dissolved. Traditionally this yoga is called insight yoga (jñanayoga), which is the central theme of the Advaita Vedânta. This is a tradition which comes from the older Upanishads (approx. 800 - 600 v.Chr.), in which the core of self-being (Âtman) has no form nor limitations and in this way coincides with the source of the universe (Brahman).

The teaching occurs on different levels.  First the basic information is given in words.  Secondly there is the creation of a good orientation through pointers.  Thirdly there is the direct action that occurs around and to the words, i.e. discussion.  The answers to questions are aimed at enlarging the insight of the person asking the question. Not everything that is said is relevant for everyone else.  It's important to stay with yourself.  Then what is of import to you will certainly appear.

Advaita-gatherings are open for everyone who has a serious interest.

Most meetings are on Wednesday evenings in the Advaita centre in Gouda (to see map), from approx. 20.00 - 22.00.

You can find the date and location of the meetings, also the ones that occur outside of Gouda on the agenda

The charge for an evening is € 8,- (reduced income: € 5,-).
